My partner and i stayed in the executive spa suite for 3 nights for 189 dollars/night in the easter holidays tues - fri after easter weekend. We enjoyed the stay, the hotel was quiet, in a great location just a 5 min walk from the centre of byron, had a nice swim in the heated pool, lovely gardens and played tennis on good court. However the room was a bit run-down with light pine furniture, salmon pink paint and mould on the shower floor and bathroom roof.
The walls were in need of a scrub and the bed had no douna cover, just the white douna. The bin was a plastic white bucket. The back door didn't lock properly only the screen so we were concerned about security a little, but all was fine. The reception staff didn't appear to enjoy working there and found it hard to be welcoming, manage a smile and answer questions. The cleaners were very efficient with daily service and friendly.
It was a good stay overall just in need of a bit more tlc and renovations.
Byron was fantastic and a relaxing getaway from the pretense of other holiday destinations. Enjoyed the balcony bar and restaurant, the curry house which served excellent indian food, but the best restaurant was muois feast, an asian restaurant a street back from the beach hotel. Weather was brilliant for that time of year, very lucky sunbaking with clear blue skies in april in northern new south wales.
