Despite the quality fittings and excellent art on the walls. It should be made clear in publicity that this studio is attached to the owner's main house (indeed you have to enter it to access studio). And that you can hear the owners, see the owners, but without any contact with them at all! which makes for a very strange atmosphere. Should also be made clear that studio room is overlooked from high window in main house and by owners as they walk past.
Get feeling that owners want the income, but not the customers! Comments in info at studio such as "departure at 10 am SHARP" were very unnecessary and consistent with the overbearing tone throughout. Pool would have been more usable if owner had not been restaining woodwork around it during the day, which came off on our hands and feet - very unpleasant and unprofessional. And fumes filled studio room.
Could be a very nice place with a different approach from owners. Overall, poor value for money.
Loved Byron Bay. Great atmosphere, beaches, walks (especially up to the lighthouse), food and cafe/bars (especially the Balcony). Choose your beach carefully. Tullow is spectacular and beautiful, but potentially lethal due to dangerous rip tides. Stick to Main beach and others along same stretch.
Book Taylors at Tallows, Byron Bay HR, or Byron Bay Area Accommodation and Hotels.
