My husband and I stayed here as a surprise getaway for me for my Birthday. The room was excellent and large with wooden blinds, a double spa, lots of towels and the most comfortable king sized bed. The restaurant and bar were open and well decorate. The crowed at the bar Friday night was larger and younger than I had expected, creating a good holiday atmosphere. The menu was not extensive but the food was good.
We had breakfast delivered to our room on Saturday morning and it was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had in a long time. Delivered very hot, the food was well presented, delicious and plentiful. Sunday morning we went to the dining room and had a continental breakfast, not a large selection but it was adequate. The room was so comfy we didn't even find our way to the pool. The only minus was no on site beauty spa, I had wanted to indulge a little.
Though I get the feeling that if I had asked at the front desk they would have been able to arrange something.
Ballina is a very nice beach and river side town. It had some excellent bicycle trails and we thought if we come back we will need to bring or hire some bikes.
We were in town over the ANZAC Day weekend so the shopping was limited and unfortunately so were the choices for eating out on Saturday night. But the pub we went to had a good wine list and the food was generous in amount and good quality.
We spent time walking along beaches and the river. Did a short drive the the viewing area outside Lennox Heads, spectacular.
